Nathan Ramanathan
Nathan Ramanathan is a scholar, educator, and devoted servant of Tamil heritage. Born in Karaikudi — a town steeped in Tamil culture — Nathan carried the richness of that heritage across continents, pursuing doctoral research at the prestigious Max-Planck Institute in Germany before making the Bay Area his home.
With over 20 years of teaching experience and 14+ years of dedicated service to Tamil schools in the United States, Nathan brings a rare combination of academic rigor, cultural depth, and joyful pedagogy to every classroom. His life motto — *Fun with Purpose* — captures his teaching philosophy perfectly: learning Tamil should be engaging, meaningful, and alive with energy.
Nathan's commitment to Tamil education extends far beyond teaching vocabulary and grammar. He believes in transmitting the wisdom of an ancient civilisation — its poetry, its ethics, its worldview — to the next generation of Tamil Americans.
As Principal of San Ramon Tamil School, Nathan leads with warmth, intellectual curiosity, and an unwavering belief that every child who walks through SRTS doors carries within them the seeds of a great Tamil legacy.
